“Tim Davis, the creator of Pureheart Ministries, for me was an Oasis in the desert!
Being from a macho society in Scotland, a culture that prides itself on activities like tree throwing and kilt wearing bush men, talking about your feelings is not something we do easy. Transfer that into middle class church culture and real issues are rarely discussed. In the year of 2019, in desperation I sent an email to anyone who would listen to numerous ‘Christian’ organisations who specialised in sex addiction recovery. Having struggled with sex addiction for 30 years and almost destroying my wife, myself and children, I was in a very hopeless, desperate state.
After a few days, some organisations responded to my plea for help and made contact, also making sure I knew the price of their services, and from their response, I quickly understood that sex was making money in every direction, even in recovery. He quickly and wisely set me up with a mentor, who Tim himself mentored and who has become a dear friend, and we started the journey of working through Tim Davis’ books. The materials are unique in the way they cover very serious subjects in a manner that is engaging and easy to read. The materials are also affordable, cover every angle that the addict can think of, and are biblically based. The homework outcomes at the end of each chapter / lesson allow the reader to engage with the materials in a way that gets to the heart of the lesson.
